uneventful events

i've wanted to do poetry events and workshops in norwich for a while, but then my health took a turn and i'm not sure i can run anything big right now - but since those events would just be invitations to spend time together, be in community, share experiences and be close to each other, why not try finding less demanding ways to do that? uneventful events are my easy, relaxed, low-pressure way of holding events even when i can't do a full course of well-planned writing workshops. no need to book, no cost, no pressure - it's just an excuse to hang out together outside.

directions

we'll be meeting in a little clear section of Earlham Cemetery where there's enough space between headstones to lie down and have a natter without being directly on top of anyone's resting place.

earlham cemetery is huge, so for ease of finding our spot, we're near the crematorium, which is really central and easy to get directions to with whatever means you normally use to navigate. from there, here's the directions to the specific place we'll be:

coming from earlham road?

walk towards the crematorium from the earlham road entrance. once you've gone through the crematorium gates and past the old chapel, you'll see a bench with a streetlamp next to it on your left. turn left here and go down the dirt path through the trees. after a very short while of following this path, you'll see us on your right.

here's a video of me walking to the spot from this direction.

coming from dereham or bowthorpe road?

make your way to the earlham crematorium, and walk past/around the building until you reach the main access road (the long stretch of pavement going down a slight hill which joins earlham road at the end). you'll see a bench to your right. walk towards earlham road and away from the cemetery until you reach a second bench on your right, this time next to a streetlamp. turn left here and go down the dirt path through the trees. after a very short while of following this path, you'll see us on your right.

here's a video of me walking to the spot from this direction.

and just for good measure, here's another visual aid. i'm never sure the best way to give directions, and i'd rather do too much than too little.
